Most of Edtech is Trash; Here’s what we could do aboutΒ it. I started teaching in 2004 when the first wave of high school integrated math curriculum was phasing back out of classrooms as frustrated teachers happily returned to standard Algebra-Geometry-Algebra II (AGA) sequences. A few years later we went through a curriculum cycle driven by new standards and legislation that required Algebra 1 (linear at least) to be taught in 8th grade.

I completely agree. The focus on grades over meaningful learning has worsened with online grading’s transparency. Despite years of adding tech for teachers and students, there’s little real evolution in how it’s integrated to improve education. #sschat #bfc530 #edusky

Yes, many students may enjoy holiday themed "fun activities" but unless you're at a religious school, you're bound to have at least one student who will feel alienated and likely won't be comfortable speaking up.
