Also a lady in the bike lane ahead of me coming home had the red TRP cx8.4s that have been haunting me with their perfect reviews and complete unavailability all week. I congratulated her on her amazing luck, she prob thinks I’m nuts.

Shoutout to @waba.org and Gearin’ Up bike coop in DC (at the classy new location), where the parts bin yielded not the mini v brakes I want but mini v brakes likely good enough to build the bike while I poke around for better ones. Eight bucks, can’t be beat.

It is an exhilarating commute and as I am not made of sugar I will not melt but I have paused under an awning to see if it gets a little less boomy in a few minutes.

How can it be the case that I bought a new modern frame and have the same problem this guy has? We just want nice steel frames with drop bars and rim brakes that work! This is robust, solved tech! (Does anyone have some discontinued silver tektro rx6 mini-v brakes lying around unused? Help.)
