Acts of violence collapsed into the ongoing memeplex of references and symbology of a specific community.
To clarify; it is clear that Tyler Robinson is NOT an NVE shooter. However, I believe it is worth acknowledging we have now seperate and distinct examples where *being* part of an extremely online space creates a distinct treatment of offline violence.

12.09.2025 18:07 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0What we are starting to reckon with, through our developing threat picture of NVE and now this, is the irreverence given to acts of extreme real-world violence when carried out as communicative acts for *being* online for certain communities....

29.08.2025 13:39 — 👍 7 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0I don't disagree with you, but you have to ask what connection is there to designate O9A beyond decontextualised memetics. My point is to stop looking at O9A as a marker to find drivers (or worse, an easy 'solve' for this) & instead look at participatpry dynamics shaped by online forms and culture.
27.08.2025 23:15 — 👍 24 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I've just posted some expanded thoughts on this that echo exactly your point!
27.08.2025 22:09 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The groups using "neo nazi Satanist" symbology aren't learning star games or acausal time. Functionally, here it's a clubhouse symbol that's been memed to the point of empty reference to nothing but the *myth* of O9A; simultaneously shorthand and excuse for "just be evil, open to CSAM."
27.08.2025 22:08 — 👍 24 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0My 2p for the Satanist trainspotters pointing towards Order of Nine Angles: I'd argue this is a parody of O9A distilled through various online recombinations and iterations. Some of the language and symbols are there, but none of the intended meaning & certainly not the practice as developed by O9A.

It's been memed.

27.08.2025 19:02 — 👍 172 🔁 15 💬 3 📌 3This whole bit is a strategy of "semiotic cold reading" - a scattershot of references, in-jokes, esoterica without a centre. There are enough for various researchers & journalists to manufacture the centre, the point to this, that they would like. For others in the community; it's content.
27.08.2025 19:02 — 👍 241 🔁 33 💬 4 📌 1I don't post much any more, but for everyone poring over the manifesto, scrawlings, and footprint following the Minneapolis shooting, here's a timesaver.
The aim is to be remembered, discussed, to turn oneself into content that then becomes the next reference on a gun.
I really ought to turn notifications back on here...
This does seem to grasp at the wider cultural/artistic negatives of ontological flatness. I'll have to roll it around in my head a bit first but it's a good thread. Some of the work on various post-postmodernisms might be useful too.
This sounds incredibly exciting. Loads of my favourite topics in there!

Intro time.
I'm a researcher and OSINT analyst.
Interested in human/medium interaction, digital narratology, tech-led cultural intelligence, and barking at policy types to read more McLuhan.
Currently working in CVE spaces focusing on composite threats, and analytical best practice for OSINT.
I suppose I should endeavour to use this a bit more since there's a mass-migration (and an influx of followers, hi and thank you).
It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out in the next 4 years. Will Bluesky / X be the next Tumblr / 4chan?
