RMI - Cool roofs can greatly reduce the impact of heat waves in cities

A new study conducted by @kuleuvenuniversity.bsky.social, RMI, @sciensano.be, VITO and @ucl.ac.uk, highlights the effectiveness of “cool roofs”: reflective roofs that can significantly reduce temperatures in cities.

Hi! The geomagnetic storm is still active, but its intensity is decreasing. Its effects may still be visible for a few days, but this requires ideal conditions, including a perfectly clear sky, and it is expected to remain cloudy tonight across much of the country. Keep an eye on the sky ☺️

Many of you observed the Northern Lights on the evening and night of 19 to 20 January.

📸 Our camera in Uccle also captured this moment between 8:55 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. 🤩

ℹ️ These Northern Lights were caused by a solar storm with an intensity of G4 on a scale of 5.
