Shino Glaze made from Feldspar collected in Burnsville, NC, kaolin from the Shenandoah Valley Virginia, and black iron oxide from Hiwassee VA.

Shino Teabowl, made during my summer residency at Starworks. This shino is a simple 90 feldspar 10 kaolin mix using wild materials I collect. It’s really fun to tinker with.

Absolutely. That clay stretches farther and thinner than anything else I’ve thrown. It is a huge pain to seize all of the wood fibers out tho
