When I say I think about The Locked Tomb series all the time, I’m not joking. I just sent this text to my best friend because I literally can’t concentrate because I’m thinking about Gideon and Harrow.

Sure the blue states are more likely to sue and it'll go to the Supreme Court, but some of y'all seem to forget that our current SCOTUS is stacked in favor of the federal law and will likely uphold it despite the law suit from blue states. I don't understand what people don't understand about that.

After several conversations with different people lately, I just wanna say one thing: being in a blue state will mean absolutely nothing if a federal book banning law is put in place, or any over arching federal law for that matter.

Every time I read Gideon the Ninth I’m never prepared for Gideon’s death and it kills me each time. And the scene with Harrow afterwards. Ugh! I am UNWELL!!!

I started scanning my books into Libib. Just finished scanning my first bookcase and it contained 237 books. This doesn’t include my other two bookcases and all the books spread out throughout the various rooms, nooks and crannies in my apartment 🥲 I might have an issue when it comes to book 😅🙃😁😂

Just rechecked my 2024 music stats and apparently I listened to the Arcane album so much in December that it dethroned the Take Me Back to Eden album as my top album of the year 😅 it also kicked two artists out of my top 5 for the year 😅

I always set my reading goal to be this low because I know myself. I tend to do most of my reading during the fall and winter months with only a few books here or there in the spring and summer months. The hours and pages goals are set by multiplying the average length of a book or audiobook by 12.

I'm hopeful that this coming year will bring some much needed gentleness, peace, and safety into my life as well as more books that I enjoy and less books that I don't.

This is also the year where I found myself reading several books over and over again, finding comfort among their pages (mainly The Locked Tomb series and Sabriel). Ironically, I'm going into the new year reading Gideon the Ninth and Sabriel, as well as a first time read of A Discovery of Witches.

This was a year with a lot of ups and a lot of downs
- both with the books I read and in general. I started DNF'ing books before (something l'd never done before). Many of the books I read this year were dark and emotional and honestly, that's a perfect representation of how my year as a whole went
