i want to know what, if anything, goes through people’s brains when they type some shit like “had to of” … do y’all just not reread your messages? (this isn’t even recent, i’m just thinking about it)

i wonder if i’ll ever stop finding inside jokes that i’d forgotten about. three decades of inside jokes.

inside jokes require two people. what do they become when one of them is dead?

to the people who used my sister’s funeral to sabotage my department and get me fired (results pending), i hope you have the life you completely, 100% deserve.

the night before the anniversary of dave’s death, i find out from my sister’s friend that i know of but have never spoken to that she’s in hospice and ill never get to say goodbye because she’s in a coma. the next day, my grandmother has a big ol’ heart attack. wake me up when forever ends…

i knew this year was gonna suck when my cat died on january 2. then my eldest dog tried to die on february 2. then my sister got diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer (EHE) on march 14. then there were a few chaotic months of fostering and being unable to do much of anything else. and now…

i think maybe the worst part is that i don’t remember your starbucks drink anymore. or your favorite food. or your favorite season. we used to joke about how it would be nice to have memories of our childhoods. mom getting sick forced us to spend more time together and i’m so grateful for that time.

somehow it’s fitting that your last post on facebook is an “i found waldo” joke.

this might turn into my grief diary, so feel free to unfollow me in advance.

i’m super weirded out by this trend of shaming people for not being part of the default.
