3/3 So much potential wasted… it could have been a fantastic new great science fiction film or franchise, and it feels like just another short concept story that nobody knew how to end.

And by the way, is it just me, or do some films make you grieve for the film they could have been too?

2/3 Did they intend to do a trilogy, couldn’t and decided to put everything in it anyway? Did someone else edit the movie? So sad to see even the most basic plausibility going down the drain at some point, and chronology, and feel like they gave away there story to just pull through the end.

1/3 There are films that infuriated me, like Blade Runner 2029, and there are films that makes me sad. Like The Creator. Oh god what happened? So much good intentions, great concepts, more than honest acting, and then… what, the edit?

I have to read it again too. But I need to get it in black and white first. I read the colored version 30 years ago. It was great, but I'd like to read it as it was intended by Otomo when he draw it.

What a show. Loved it! Designs, characters and plots. I was so sorry when it got cancelled/was butchered to end. One of the few shows I want to rewatch.

TL;DR: Bill Willingham is the lovely creator/writer of the Fables series of comics created for DC. He owns (or owned) the intellectual property rights. Due to reasons in the article - which amount to shenanigans from DC and his own philosophy - he decided to give the IP to the public domain.
