My first #SDCC panel this year is “Tales from my Spinner Rack,” where writer (and former Jack Kirby assistant) Mark Evanier joins Gary Sassaman and others in breaking down early ‘60s Fantastic Four covers.

Between Malcom Jamal-Warner, Ozzy Osbourne, and Hulk Hogan, it's been a bad week for 1980s pop culture. So many memories, and reminders that we are all fleeting.

Good to see Swire retained. Have to admit I’m a little disappointed with Rico Medina and Mark Nagales’s opposition — especially the latter. Mark’s generally been good with prioritizing non-car transit.

I was actually hoping there'd be an escalator. There wasn't. I'm sure there's emergency stairs somewhere, but only saw the elevator.

That first Runaways series was great. I don’t think the concept is great for ongoing, and they’ve never quite managed to recapture the magic from the first story arc, but they were onto something at the start.
