WHAT IS IT? A tool to see exactly how many people are currently outraged by the IPP sentence in every single UK constituency.
WHY NOW? Because MPs need to know that their own voters care about this injustice.
The IPP sentence was abolished in 2012, but for thousands of families, the sentence has never ended.
Yesterday, we are bringing the reality to the doorsteps of power. We are launching the IPP Constituency Map live from our exhibition in David Lammyโs constituency.
We know this doesn't fix the injustice for those still behind bars, and our fight for full re-sentencing continues.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. ungripp@gmail.com
When does this start? While the law was passed yesterday, we are waiting for the "Commencement Date". We expect this to be very soon but it is not happening yet. We will update you as soon as we know when it is being implemented.
23.01.2026 09:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 03.โ โ Automatic Termination (The 4-Year Total): If your license isn't ended at the first review, but you manage to stay in the community for another 2 years without a recall, your license will end automatically.
23.01.2026 09:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 02.โ โ The "Annual Review": If your license termination is unsuccessful at the 2-year mark, you no longer have to wait indefinitely. You now have a legal right to apply every single year after that to have your license terminated.
23.01.2026 09:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1Action: If you have already been out for 2 years and haven't had a review, contact your probation officer and solicitor to request that this review is triggered
23.01.2026 09:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Here are the three critical changes that have been made:
1.โ โ The "2-Year Rule" (New Review Point): Previously, you had to wait 3 years after your first-ever release before the Parole Board would consider ending your license. That has now been cut to 2 years.
IPP License Changes become Law.
Yesterday, the Sentencing Act 2026 officially received Royal Assent and became law. While the government still refuses to "re-sentence" everyone on an IPP, they have shortened the license length further. Here are the three critical changes that have been made:
Come paint with us. Every pebble painted represents a person who has lost their lives whilst serving the IPP sentence. Please email and highlight to your local MP. We are going to be In the heart of David Lammyโs constituency. Everyone is welcomed. Time to end the torture of IPP. #Resentence IPPโs.
22.01.2026 09:16 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 8 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Latest grim #IPP statistics from the great people at @ungripp.bsky.social
There are still 2,422 IPPs in prison
At the current rate, it will take 11 years to release all IPPs
946 people have never been release
689 people are over tariff by 10-20 years
2, these stones will form part of a larger IPP installation that will be placed in a key location this year. So come along continue the fight and finally end the torture of IPP.
15.01.2026 20:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 01. We invite all those effected by the IPP sentence, especially families, along with the general public to our IPP exhibition event. You can come along and paint a pebble in memory of those who have died and for the forgotten Women and Men still languishing away on this sentence.
15.01.2026 20:10 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 04, Our Stand: UNGRIPP will continue to brief MPs as the Bill returns to the Commons. We need a solution that doesn't just manage the licence but ends the sentence for everyone affected by this psychological torture.
Also, below is the process that the proposed changes still need to take.
3, Both the Lords and Commons have to agree on every word in the Bill. They will send the Bill back and forth until they both agree on every word.
Royal Assent: Once an agreement is reached, the King signs the Bill, and it becomes an Act of Parliament (Law).
2, This has not been passed by law yet.
How a Bill becomes Law:
The Bill has now returned to the House of Commons so MPs can consider the changes made by the Lords.
1, IPP Update: The Sentencing Bill moves to the Commons
On the 12th January the Sentencing Bill was agreed by the House of Lords and has been passed back to the House of Commons for the next stage.
The only amendment to be included is Lord Timpsonโs (see photo attached)
A huge thank you to those who spoke: Lord Thomas, Viscount Hailsham, Lord Carter of Haslemete, @SarahLudford @EdwardGarnier @shamichakrabar1 @danielmgmoylan Lord Davies of Brixton @GreenJennyJones @MichaelBerkele2 @Fox_Claire Lord Marks of Henley-on-Thames & Lord Keen of Elie
07.01.2026 09:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yesterday, the Lords debated ending the IPP injustice. Only Lord Timpson's amendments progressed, but we owe a massive thank you to the Peers who stood up for everyone affected by IPP.

Next week, the Lords debate the Sentencing Bill. Some amendments may be dropped early, and most wonโt pass without pressure. Please contact your local MP and urge them to ask James Timpson and David Lammy to support all amendments. Below is the our amendment table.
02.01.2026 12:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0@annadixonmp.bsky.social well done for getting this taken seriously. 1 step at a time. This is great news for Jimmy and his family. Letโs hope that they will be back together soon. We urge other MPโs to follow Anna Dixon MP example and pressure the Government to finally end IPP.

04.12.2025 19:29 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 018 years in prison for a 2.5-year tariff and STILL no release date.
Today at #PMQs, I told the Prime Minister about Jimmy, the son of Shipley constituents Mike and Sue.
I called on the PM to help put an end to the injustices caused by IPP sentences and support Jimmyโs Parents to get him home.
Well done to Jimmyโs family in getting this raised and receiving a direct answer from the PM and a massive thank you to @annalouisedixon MP for highlighting the ongoing struggle and fight of the IPP sentence. Only an appropriate resentencing process will end this trauma.
