While daydreaming, I thought of a random scenario involving a fictional MMO and a character in it. Only a minute after thinking this up, the story now has a big bad that ties into the weakness of the protagonist and themes of loss and control

ALSO also I want to share a piece of criticism of cozy I do really like, partly because it focuses on on specific trends and plot points in specific books (and a specific niche, cozy witch books, at that) where I often see a lot of critics get hung up on the descriptor "cozy" in a very abstract way

not that OP is wrong, i agree with them. but i guess i hope my fellow neurospicy folks know that sometimes the other party won't *want* to make things right, no matter how well-meaning you are.

lrp — unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't matter if you try to make things right. sometimes, you know you're a burden and instead you just bottle it all up and try so hard not to let the cracks show. and when they do, they dump you anyway, even if you reshape your entire self to accommodate them.

If you do something wrong, your mental illness is not an excuse. That doesn’t mean you had control over it or that it’s not an explanation for your actions, but it doesn’t exempt you from consequences or a need to reflect/apologize.

It’s not fun, but if there’s a way you can fix things, you should.
