The EU is supporting Fiji in addressing cybersecurity threats.

Fiji’s Director-General for Digital Government Transformation, Cybersecurity and Communications, Tupou'tuah Baravilala joined the EU Member States Ambassadors to discuss cooperation on cybersecurity & digital issues.

We were pleased to join the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency last week in Pacific Harbour, Fiji, for the closing of the three-week “Regional Fish Inspectors Training Course”, covering aspects such as food safety, quality control and EU market access requirements.

1/2. The European Union Ambassador to the Pacific, Her Excellency Barbara Plinkert met the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Hon. Jotham Napat in Port Vila yesterday.

They discussed the EU-Vanuatu cooperation, particularly in the area of climate resilience and economic development.

More than 130,000 people in Vanuatu will benefit from a new EURO 10 M contribution from the EU.

This funding aims to protect the country’s education system by preparing it to be more resilient to the impact of climate-related disasters.

Fiji's fight against Illegal, Unregulated & Unreported fishing received a boost this week with the launch of the new Fisheries Operations Centre in Suva thanks to the European Union & Govt. of Sweden funded PEUMP Programme.

The European Union is proud to support the Digital Economy Report: Pacific Edition 2024, published by UNCTAD which was launched at Pacific Islands Forum in Suva today. It is a comprehensive report highlighting the significant progress made in digital connectivity across the Pacific region.

The European Union and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) have today signed a Contribution Agreement to continue supporting the implementation of Fiji’s Climate Change Act, which will enhance Fiji’s leadership in regional climate action.

Addressing climate change remains a top priority in our cooperation with Fiji and the Pacific region.

Today, the European Union Ambassador to the Pacific, H.E. Barbara Plinkert paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Mosese Bulitavu.
