The image captures the daring spirit of one of the earliest female pilots in the U.S., who earned her license in 1912, became the first woman to fly mail, perform a loop-the-loop in America, and tour internationally in Asia—breaking barriers in a male-dominated field just a decade after the Wright brothers' first flight.

Aviator Kathrine Stinson was born #OTD in 1891.

Good to hear James. Going out is such a tonic.

So today we recognize a Woman who has played a ginormous role in the scientific medical community. She was instrumental in the development of vaccines for HPV, Polio and even HIV/Aids medication. I belive she has saved millions around the world. Unfortunately, this was not her choice.

I started going out on my own about two and half years ago and haven't looked back. Last September I was asked if I'd dance in a music video. It comes out next Friday.

Mathematician Sofya Kovalevskaya was the first woman to:

+ Earn a doctorate in #mathematics (in the modern sense)
+ Be appointed to a full professorship in mathematics

She was also one of the first women to work for a scientific journal as an editor. She died #OTD in 1891.
