Indeed they do but they are not the tax return which will still be made separately. I see your point but if you are already using VAT bridging software then adding MTD bridging software should be relatively inexpensive as an add on.

Not a good analogy John. Council Tax is based on a known value so just a collection process. Tax is based on information supplied so needs some sort of reporting. You can get basic MTD software for Β£s. eg Absolute Accounting.

Early days John but I think it is the quarterly returns which need the MTD software. As far as I am aware you can still use the HMRC software for your annual return and indeed the cheaper MTD software does not connect with the annual software.
