I find it annoying that someone like Bill Gates or Steve Ballmer who live in WA haven't funded anything. They are billionaires who could help a lot and be lauded as hometown heroes but they don't care.

The whole situation is sad and frustrating.

One problem we are currently having with public pressure is NIMBY's who say they want better support for homeless but always come up with reasons why it can't be done in certain areas or it's not priority #1 or whatever excuse. Though that is what I've seen in Seattle, not Olympia.
