I was hyped for the switch tbf but ultimately the majority of the circles I'm in are still on there and aren't all going to move, so it makes it hard to not stay on there. Also, with tweetdeck, it cut out a lot of the bs you see on the app versions (besides the cesspits in replies)

Yeah, it's awful, reckon it should be possible to recover them at least because the grounds for the suspensions are so minimal + it feels like a big warning shot more than a remotely reasonable punishment.

Liking the Saka-Timber dynamic so far – usually Timber's standoffishness can be hurtful, but with Eze occupying the halfspace channel, it's actually allowed for positive free man situations that have led to good inroads, since Fulham are flattening themselves out a lot when deep.

Stretching the last line channels well when we can circulate it in their third though and those channel spaces open up quickly for us. Just some basic execution issues wrt trust from ball-player to runner.

Tempo on the ball was much better once we were given some more license to play against a deep block. We just look a bit unsure of ourselves, combinations-wise, when against mid-blocks because of turnover risk + the players involved initially & their understanding.

Feels like that central 4 (Rice, Zubi, Eze & Cala) have been too locked down to their positions within the diamond. Want to see Eze allowed to drift left and come deep, as well as for Rice to push on.

but Eze's been kept away from the left, so he hasn't been able to replicate that. That's why the gaps between WCBs and WFs has been so big to the point of increased risk when trying to avoid the congested centre.

It's been fine not great so far. Fulham blocking central access in buildup well but life made easier by the vertical interchanges being a bit passive at times. The problem is that we took a while to sought different solutions like double width – Ødegaard's usually a lively instigator of this

Inside RB Leipzig Tom Curren heads inside one of the world's pre-eminent football factories.

Today we published my 6000-word story on the three days I spent at RB Leipzig. This was a ton of work and I am incredibly grateful to have the platform to write and research narrative stuff like this. If you make it through, I hope you enjoy:

That said, it will be a pain in a month's time when our schedule's packed and Saka and Kai (assuming Øde's is short-term) still aren't available. Shit just sucks so fucking much, man. Right before the Anfield trip as well ffs.

Just a huge relief off the back of three major injuries happening (already!) that this time all 3 are largely compensated for. They're not all like-for-like but they are high quality replacements that we can still function very well with.

Noni looked a different level when he got to switch sides – so tough to shake off the ball, even when it got congested, and so good at creating separations either way. Delivery potential looks really good as well.

Only remote positive off the back of the Saka injury is that I'm actually looking at the back-up and thinking, oh ok, we can manage. Compare that to Raheem last year...

Max's cameo was unreal. Mad having a kid like that playing where you can see everybody trying to get him the ball. So impressive the way he competes on the outside already, so the cut-in space stays open for him. And obviously great feet again for another pen won.

rarely getting the better of the CBs. Going about it this way, it would've been nice for him instead to have just picked a side at times and looked to be a back wall for a teammate instead.

(some more surprisingly off Saka weaker foot deliveries contributed to that), I would've liked to have seen him hover over the shoulder more. We weren't bouncing it into him centrally for it to be worth him staying within the defender's eye-line at almost all times, so he was

Glad GyΓΆkeres did what he needed to do. Would happily see us play more 'hopeful' channel balls like that when we've spread the opposition because he's so good at hunting down loose balls and winning the duels. In the settled phases, beyond the fact that the service wasn't there

23.08.2025 20:32 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

You want to give the WFs that vertical movement ahead of them so that they get the space they need to operate in. Combos themselves could've been a lot smoother but there's potential, and Ethan looked a little better operating that way centrally.

23.08.2025 20:32 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

FWs stayed very static in their spots, so once we pushed on to the next phase, it was hard to keep the momentum going. Could've done with Timber committing forwards earlier more (like White vs MU) and the WFs esp having more freedom to drop and become the central point.

23.08.2025 20:32 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Nothing like a corner routine to break the open play tension, though, eh? Was a little concerned up to that point. The mf3 were very fluid, almost operating across the pitch as a unit to try and connect play but ended up needing to do a lot of work in the opening phase whilst our

wage of a player we should be shifting to facilitate such a move is obviously going to be incredibly frustrating, as it should be for everyone in the fanbase.

There’ve already been enough reports this summer stating that Nelli is not for sale, so this just means there’s no chance of a serious LW acquisition, which is what we’ve been dying for all summer. And given a move for one was actually still feasible at this point, seeing us instead just bump the

(comparatively), is on the age curve ofc but only a year older than Eze, and with sellers who would rather sell abroad. Has featured inside more so for Atalanta but has a lot of the key touchline-winger sensibilities you'd want + if we're starting to give more inside freedom to ours, he'd slot in.
