The whole thing would be so much better if Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan were reversed. Make it Obi-Wan whi has the special connection w/ the living force, who is insistent upon training Anakin while Qui-Gon just meditates. And then it’s that insistence that gets Qui-gon killed & Obi-Wan has to live with it.

I will grant that the one, single interesting moment from the sequel trilogy was the Rey/Kylo dynamic.

But 1) they immediately trashed that, and 2) the rest of the film was horrendous on basically every level.
