Was just talking this morning about @darinbradley.bsky.social's Blood Metal. What a fantastic book. Like Dark Tower series meets The Book of the New Sun. Really, I think more people should read it.

Yep, I've learned that when I'm not writing, it's because I'm growing in some small way, leading to a realization that will suit and improve the story. Took a while to learn to trust that, but it works.

I dreamed last night that I was back in high school and needed to choose a P.E. credit. Municipal pall bearer was an option, so naturally I chose it, and the more I think about it . . . I mean, it could be a thing.

I've never subscribed to the idea that you must put down garbage words every day. If nothing is on the line, there's nothing to achieve.

I have never been a fan of Nano. Not since the beginning.

Oh, authors too, I think. The volume of re-presenting information that readers may have forgotten from a prequel without being repetitive and uninteresting is tiring!

Loose trilogies are a lot of fun. So much less rigid than a direct series (I'm finally learning as a mid-career author)!

Don't forget themed apocalypse trilogies! Mine was The Dystopian Cluster.
