An Albany park resident received the call on Thursday, September 18th. The caller indicated that they had won something and had to report to 5700 n Harlem to pick up their prize money the next day. When the resident arrived, ICE agents were present and detained the individual. Another resident was told to report to the same address to pick up scrap metal, and was detained. If you receive suspicious phone calls, please take precaution and do not report to a location without verifying if the call is legitimate. If this happens to you, please report to ICIRR hotline 855-435-7693
The Northwest Side Rapid Response Team posted this community alert a short while ago. It describes how a resident in Albany Park was lured by a phone call that indicated they had won a prize. Another was lured to an address to pick up scrap metal. Both were detained by ICE upon arrival.
