The ‘Turkish Cypriot community leadership’ refers to the Vice Presidency of the 1960 Republic of Cyprus.

It should not be confused with the so-called ‘Presidency’ of the self-declared TRNC, which is the regime occupying the territory.

Believing this “governor” could ever act without Ankara’s nod is pure naïveté. He’s a spokesperson for the occupation.

...and people in Nicosia and Athens celebrating this? A spectacle of decay.

The left there lost its credibility long ago when it sided with the settlers in the ’90s “election”(!)... not to fight the occupation, not for labor, but for loot. They united not against oppression, but for grabbing Greek properties seized by the Turkish army (“the issue of land registry, deeds”).

No good news from Cyprus. Erhürman is worse. A softer face for the same agenda. (He’s repeatedly admitted that what he calls federalism is no different from what Tatar wants.)

Besides, the “federal” plan would place the entire island under Turkey’s thumb.

The so-called “elections” in northern Cyprus: an occupation zone, a puppet regime, ballots cast by settlers.

They serve two purposes: to disguise Turkey’s occupation as democracy and to legitimize its war crimes through the ballot box.

Regime: institutionalized settler colonialism.

Just for the record, the overwhelming majority of the voters are the settlers from Turkey, not Turkish-speaking native Cypriots.

I keep hearing talks about artificial organs and immortality… is financial capital just trying to resurrect its biotech investments? Time to cash in on those bets, huh?
