@jimccasey1.bsky.social has already made me cry. @altnehgov.altgov.info was essential for me as a professional, for so many of us. My career, the friendships I hold so dear, my work -- I can never express enough gratitude.

The loss of funding is severe, but the loss of this wonderful #DigitalHumanities community is far worse. #DH is about people, and NEH ODH was a core piece of our people-based infrastructure for advancing our field and helping each of us grow #ACH2025

Fun fact (as the coffee kicks in this morning): before the pandemic, I had a wonderful conversation with @brettbobley.bsky.social about failure, and scholars' reticence to straight up that word. The NEH understood that good experimental work can fail. I so appreciated that honesty. #ACH2025

So much today on the importance of the human in the humanities.

And a theme running through the entire conference: community -- both our local communities and our DH community. #ACH2025
