I would try to trade Vientos for a bullpen arm. If he has little value, then he could be the first option at DH if Alonso leaves.

#Mets only play two games:
1. They score a good amount early and manage to hold on. Pain level is a 7 out of 10 as they slowly give back the lead.

2. They fall behind early and never come back. Pain level is either a 3 because you’re numb to it or a 9 because you are so frustrated.

I actually just forgot about Mauricio. He definitely should be there, probably instead of Acuna.

Trade Vientos and McNeil for arms

I bet either Alonso or Vientos is playing 1st next year. But I am fine if they can trade Vientos for a good bullpen arm. Not sure if anyone will offer that, but…

Well, it is time to say our farewells to a number of #Mets vets.

Marte is obviously gone. Winker and Taylor won’t be re-signed.

McNeil should be traded but can we even get a decent 6th inning reliever for him unless we pay most of his salary?

I understand. I just never bought into this pitching staff. I loved Griffin Canning’s first two months but always knew he was Griffin Canning. And I will never understand why we think 4.1 of Holmes giving up 8 baserunners is a great idea.

1987 is so much worse. As was 2007. As was any year from 2009-2014, when the Wilpons shouldn’t have been allowed to be owners any more.
