Now that it's getting colder, you're going to see an influx of spiders in your home and a lot of them are generally harmless Wolf Spiders.

Before mindlessly killing them, please consider letting them be or at the very least, capturing and releasing them elsewhere.

I have tarantulas, jumping spiders & other spiders and tarantulas are definitely the easiest to care for out of them, so I'd recommend them, especially if you already have some, especially terrestrials, their set up is a lot simpler too, my jumpers are definitely more active 🩷

On its underside, there are "teeth"-like projections. On its top, it is flat white, except there are beads of red droplets like blood.

Day 21 of posting cool mushrooms every day:

The Bleeding Tooth fungus (Hydnellum peckii) has both teeth on its underside and "blood" on its top!

The "blood" is extracellular fluid, which is squeezed out when the fungus absorbs water, increasing pressure until the red fluid is squeezed out!

Who says November is dull? These autumn moths have such delicate patterning: Black-spotted Chestnut, a relative newcomer from the Continent, with black stigmata (markings on forewings), Juniper Carpet & Red-green Carpet (what a pair!) & Scarce Umber ♂️ (♀️ is almost wingless). #MothsMatter

Large brown furry tarantula on my thigh next to my upturned hand. She's about the same length of my hand with a very fat abdomen. Two of her legs gingerly rest on my hand. Her head has an almost metallic purple sheen.
