Thatโs the hope
10.09.2025 04:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Iโve been out of town for 8 days. Time to get going again
07.09.2025 20:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oh well I have zero desire anymore to join the board so I appreciate those volunteering their time. Boards just wind up with massive time commitments during turbulent times and I have a commitment to the HIMSS board already. My board service tend to be focused toward fiscal conservatism anyway
04.09.2025 00:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I didnโt agree with that one either :) I found a rather pointed email I sent from that time period over our handling of it as a community when I was searching for some background on Larryโs petition. In general I vote for anyone who wants to join the board because I dislike the gatekeeping
04.09.2025 00:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I would have preferred that they brought it to a community vote, but I mean admittedly I got what I wanted.
03.09.2025 22:38 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Fascinating. They really donโt want to bring it to a membership vote.
03.09.2025 21:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I admit I had forgotten entirely about my himss26 submission. Not because it wasnโt important it was just that was right around when the baby was sleeping the least and I was a zombie.
03.09.2025 20:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Woo just got my acceptance for an hour presentation at HIMSS26. Large language models here I come.
03.09.2025 20:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I did appreciate you emailing a concrete list of concerns onto the AMIA listserv.
02.09.2025 16:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well thatโs something.
02.09.2025 16:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโm ready for a relaxing Labor Day. Too bad nobody told the kids :D
01.09.2025 13:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thatโs disturbing. People are full of angst over the technology
01.09.2025 02:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I missed this one and it was fascinating reading
01.09.2025 02:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Then I realize Iโm standing here thinking about sayings like:
โYou Come at the King, You Best Not Missโ
โDonโt do what you canโt undo, until youโve considered what you canโt do once youโve done it.โ Robin Hobb assassins apprentice
It leaves me wondering a lot.
I havenโt logged in in months. I meant to but was busy, we had a new baby. Iโm part of a professional society. Iโm flabbergasted that adults donโt recognize the difference between calling for policy changes and calling for the removal of a single person. It makes me wonder if Iโm wrong.
01.09.2025 02:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Openai is hosting a thing tonight "Introduction to OpenAI's Head of Recruiting", only 11,000 people joining. ๐ณ I think I'll wind up de-prioritizing this one. I was mainly hoping to hear if they were going to stop requiring everyone to move in person to the valley.
25.07.2025 00:11 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My 9 year old daughter just told me her life goal is to never get married and to own 100 cats. ROFL
16.06.2025 12:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ask your wife (kid, loved one etc) to record five minutes. I might release these on YouTube. I havenโt decided yet. Iโm still in the growing audience phase of authorship
15.06.2025 15:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Audiobook Generator GUI that can clone your voice like 11Labs but hosted locally. Fun little project so I could listen to the books I've written and make sure everything sounded right.

Why is it that every MD who recommends against GLP-1's on my linkedin news feed is selling something which is threatened by patients who lose weight with a GLP-1? Its mildly fascinating to me.
09.06.2025 14:59 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Tried different deep research. openai's chatgpt nerfing of deep research makes the product very poor in comparison to gemini's free offering. I suspect the full version was probably still at least on par with gemini if not better but I can't know for a month.

Just wow, that I can run this locally at 30tok/s is phenomenal.
30.04.2025 14:37 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I spend the whole afternoon moving containers from the 10x20 container in front of our house to the shed we constructed in the back over the past couple months. I'm exhausted and reminded that physical labor is a great distraction but I don't want to do it full time. I finished the container though.
29.04.2025 01:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Frankly when I first found we'd gone from 1/200 to 1/32 in a couple decades I thought they might have a point! That's why I kept digging.
28.04.2025 12:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So anyway, I'm finding it hilariously ironic that Anti-Vaxers are driving the popularity of the post. Its not that anyone I knew would dramatically disagree with it in the first place they just might not have had the data handy.
28.04.2025 12:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I didn't even do the infographics to convince them, I looked up info because sometimes RFKjr has good points. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I found no supporting evidence for his viewpoints that hadn't been researched and proven unlikely (Or disproven in normal vernacular)
28.04.2025 12:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0"Vaccine's Cause Autism" is implausible. One of my LI posts have gone mildly viral. I normally get ~500 to ~1000 impressions. Its all being driven by a very concerned anti-vaxer trying to fight the good fight. I've not suppressed him because its making it far more likely to go to other anti-vaxers.
