D&D 5E has a funny design problem where they wanted to make a dungeon crawling and adventuring game but they tied all your finite-use resources to hour- and overnight rests, so it's actually a "show up for like ten minutes to throw everything you have at the biggest problem then call it a day" game

i think the (false) paradox of "the cozy game" is that it's far more memorable when there are elements of weirdness / unknowns / uncertainty in the world to it, like how early animal crossing neighbours were kinda mean sometimes and sims 1 is sorta creepy sometimes. the friction of consciousness

Nobody in real life ever starts expositing the worldbuilding like they do in anime and that's sort of a shame why isn't anyone offhandedly remarking shit like "in this world, vast networks between personal digital devices allow for instant communication across the globe"
