In some ways, nothing here is that surprising. It echoes what Jose and Conte both implied. Maybe things are slightly different now without Levy and there will be less insistence on the wage structure. Fundamentally the footballing department needs to be run so much better than it ever has been

He could probably become Bayerns back-up CB and spend a year working on his game before stepping up to being their starting CB. Doesn’t make him ready to start in the PL. I wouldn’t sell him and I want Spurs to give him a good development path, but he just isn’t a short term solution for Spurs

I think he’ll be a very good player, but the only way he plays in the PL next season is if Spurs stick to a low block back 5. Needs at least 1 more development season and I think any talk about him being a better pick than Romero in the short term is delusional

Romero’s issue isn’t that he’s hotheaded or whatever. That red & the Chelsea one are not acts of violence. It’s coming from an element of impatience and trying to force progression. If you put him in a side where the identity is constantly about ‘winning duels’ he is going to get sent off more
