An excellent piece that should be mandatory reading for the ownership, management, and players at Spurs, so they could better understand the source of the fans' anger. It isnโt just about one result or mistake; itโs about the ongoing disregard for our loyalty in favour of making a few extra quid.

At least he didn't try to sugar coat it. I was worried heโd come out and claim weโd played well or had been unlucky. This is the sort of performance that could kick start a season. A realisation that you can't play like that at home too many times and keep your job. ๐ค

At least he didnt try to sugar coat it. I was worried that he'd claim we were unlucky or played well. The one positive I'll take from that game is that Frank acknowledges it was bad. He's a smart manager, hopefully this will provoke some changes in the way we play at home.

Was Sacking Ange Postecoglou the Right Call? - Birdy Spurs
Tottenham Hotspurโs decision to part ways with Ange Postecoglou after two seasons was not entirely surprising. The club made clear in its statement that the
This fanbase doesn't know what they want. Mourinho and Conte were too negative but Ange wasn't pragmatic enough. We want some mythical middle ground where weโre dangerous in attack and solid at the back. I like Frank but I would have rather seen season 3 Ange. birdyspurs.co.uk/was-sacking-...

Yeah. Up until now, we've been bad, but there were small signs that we had something to build on. Tonight magnified all the worries. We have no one capable of keeping the ball or playing a pass. Like last season, we're so easy to play against, but for very different reasons.

I'm normally a glass-half-full person, but even I can't find a single positive from that performance.

Difficult to argue with that assessment. Not a single positive to take.

Our CBs did a lot of passing to each other, but no fucker thought to pass to our striker.

I couldn't even tell you where that 0.05 came from. If anything, that flatters Spurs.

You could have watched for 24 hours, and I doubt we'd have fashioned a chance. Absolutely woeful.
01.11.2025 20:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Woeful. Not a single positive to take from that game. This was a home game against an average Chelsea team, and we weren't even close. I like Frank, but that was unacceptable. 3rd season Ange would surely be better than this?
01.11.2025 20:02 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0
At least the stats back up how bad I thought that was when watching. Sky are currently waxing lyrical about how good Chelsea were. They were ok, but Spurs were abject. Passive, negative, naive, and lacking in ideas.
01.11.2025 19:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Turns out the bench here was an indication of how we would play. Completely fucking anonymous.
01.11.2025 19:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Embarrassing. Didn't lay a glove on them. Pathetic. I thought we should have kept Ange but saw Frank as a sensible appointment. Fuck that. That was as bad as anything under Conte, Mourinho, Nuno etc. Chelsea aren't even that good but we made them look amazing. Big questions.
01.11.2025 19:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Iโm sorry, this is worse than anything under Ange last season. At least then we had a go. This has been akin to a lower league team playing against a big team in the cup. Hopeful long balls and no quality.
01.11.2025 19:29 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Was thinking the same thing. We're miles off. We have zero composure in midfield. What Iโd give for a Dembele right now.
01.11.2025 19:12 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
I like Frank and think he could be good for us in the long run, but if we perform this poorly at home for much longer heโll be under pressure.
01.11.2025 18:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Same. That first half was pathetic. Admittedly, itโs a fairly low bar at home this season but we were so far off a pretty average side. Weโre soooo bad on the ball itโs painful.
01.11.2025 18:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Not a great combination. Lack of quality, composure, and movement. Weโre fucking awful at home. We are such a reactive team, we donโt have a single (fit) player who can dictate the tempo of a game and make things happen.
01.11.2025 18:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
The main difference is quality on the ball. As soon as we get possession we look like weโre going to lose it. Partly because of Chelseaโs aggression, but mostly because of our lack of composure and quality.
01.11.2025 18:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0
Ah ok. In that case Iโd worry about Palhinha in a more slightly more advanced position given his severely limited passing range.
01.11.2025 16:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
I think it will be one of the last two but surely Palhinha as the base of the diamond?

I was led to believe that we might have to sacrifice some attacking play to shore up the defence. I could just about get on board with that short term, but to be this bad in attack and so wide open at the back against a team that just sacked their manager is a tad worrying.
22.10.2025 20:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0
Me too as itโs more players out of position but you could argue itโs a better fit than Gray at LB. We struggled down the left with Spence cutting inside so I canโt see Gray doing any better.

Unless itโs VDV left back and Palhinha at CB?
