HOWEVER today I learned that DIY fic binding is a THING and now I'm kind of obsessed. Reading through it, it's a LOT of steps to make a book, but I have enough friends that have written fics or authors I'd love to honor by making myself (and them) a copy of my favorite fics, I may just give it a try

With everything... the way it is... my old data hoarding habits are coming back up again and I've been thinking about how to preserve fanfic if the worst were to happen. Obviously, downloading fics is the easiest answer and I've been practicing that for years.

The heating element on our dishwasher went out this weekend, so I went to Whirlpool's site and was SO pleasantly surprised that they not only had all the part numbers for my dishwasher but also a step by step guide on how to replace!
