Finally had an update about my autism assessment. Unfortunately, there is no good news. I've been on their waiting list for a year and I've been told I have another 3 years to go. By the time I get to the assessment, I'll be 31 😬.

Detra Renvictoria McGuire is described as a Black female with black hair, brown eyes, 5’7” and 135 lbs. She has pierced ears and a mole on the right side of her neck. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at 386-758-7015 quoting case no 881103124.

Detra’s classmates at Columbia High School remembered her as a nice girl who was going places and was regarded as kind, caring and quiet. With the True Cold Case Files aside, there has been no media coverage of Detra’s & Roshanda’s case.

Detra’s case was covered in True Cold Case Files and much of the information available is thanks to Jason Futch on WebSleuths. A comment appeared on the episode [on Youtube] where a young woman stated Detra’s family had moved on from the case and asked people to stop looking.

Elara Murphy, Detra’s boyfriend took a polygraph in the days after her disappearance and failed. Whilst he is considered a person of interest, no arrests have been made.

Days after Roshanda was found, Elara Murphy’s Black Nissan Sentra was found abandoned at the Ellisville Truck Stop in Ellisville, FL, a 20-minute drive from Lake City. There was no sign of Detra and some personal effects from Detra and Elara had been left in the car.

Police quickly made the connection and the body found off Interstate 10 was positively identified as 2-year-old Roshanda, but where was Detra? Roshanda’s injuries had been sustained by being thrown from a moving car, but why would a mother throw her own child from a car and then disappear?

Investigators learned from Detra’s family and boyfriend, Elara, that on November 2nd at around 7:00 PM, Detra took Roshanda into town using Elara’s Black Nissan Sentra. Detra and Roshanda never returned; their disappearances were noted on November 3rd, 1988.

Soon after, the police were notified of the disappearance of 23-year-old Detra McGuire and her 2-year-old daughter, Roshanda. Detra lived at the Gatorwood Apartments in Lake City with her two children and her boyfriend Elara Murphy. Detra resided in apartment 63B with her parents living in apt 68.

The little girl, who wore only a pink jumper and a nappy was autopsied and the Medical Examiner discovered the C.O.D. as a separation of the spinal cord and a broken neck. The autopsy provided no further insight into her identity, or what could have happened to her.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified and the child, a girl, around two years old, was sent to the hospital. Unfortunately, she had suffered road rash, bruising, abrasions and scratches and was declared deceased sometime after 10:30 PM.

THE DISAPPEARANCE OF DETRA MCGUIRE

On November 2nd 1988 around 9:07 PM a trucker driving down Interstate 10 between HW441&41 in Lake City, Florida made a quick swerve after seeing a body in the road. When he got out of his vehicle, he saw the body of a small child lying on the road.

A good audio interface is a must. You don’t need to massively splash out on a mic if you’ve got a good audio input!

Doloris may use the names Dee Gill and Doloris May McHenry. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Long Beach Police Department at 562-570-7260 quoting case number 540002558.

Doloris’s family is still without answers and despite dozens of searches, no sign of her body has ever been found. She is described as a white female with brown hair, hazel eyes, 5’7” and 160 lbs.

Sources also state that Pheaster passed a lie detector test and passed, but the validity of such tests is to be questioned. Interestingly, Pheaster would be charged with another murder in 1974 for which he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with a concurrent 70-year sentence too.

Multiple searches failed to find any sign of her body and Hugh Pheaster got away with it.

Instead of phoning for help, Hugh Pheaster claims to have loaded Doloris’s body into the boot of his car and dumped her in a ravine somewhere in the Lake Arrowhead-Big Bear Lake area.

According to sources, months after he was acquitted, Hugh Pheaster confessed that he had performed a termination on Doloris that day and that something went wrong, resulting in her death.

A year after Doloris's disappearance, Hugh Pheaster was put on trial and acquitted of performing an illegal abortion and murdering Doloris.

Doloris’s friend confirmed that she had borrowed $100 for the procedure on August 23rd.

Doloris’s disappearance was quickly noted and the Long Beach Police Department were called out to investigate. Upon digging into Hugh Pheaster’s past, they discovered he was known in the area for performing illegal abortions.

On the evening of August 23rd 1961, Doloris left her three children in the care of a babysitter at her home on Redondo Avenue and was never seen or heard from again.

29-year-old Doloris May Siddal was a mother of 3 and worked as a bartender in Long Beach, California. In 1961 she told several friends that she was ‘in trouble’ and needed to see a man named Hugh MacLeod Pheaster.
