RIP Shunsaku Tamiya, age 90, the chairman of legendary modelmaker Tamiya. He didn't found the company, but started working there in 1958, just four years after its founding, and helped it shift from its original line of wooden models into the plastic kits it is so well known for today.

The background is inspired by a view you often see while sailing in the Netherlands. A dyke with a big white windmill behind it (oftentimes also in front of it in the water).

A couple of years ago I took him sailing. He was instantly hooked and has since far surpassed me in every way possible. He now has multiple licenses and is going to compete in competitions. So I had to make something fitting for him❤️
