Star Wars has always told more stories. It has always been that way. And it will continue to tell more stories. Whether it is contemporary, old, or new they will continue to do it.

It is not damage control. They are not trying to change fans perspective on the sequel trilogy. They are simply telling more stories. And if you have to go out of your way to frame it that way means you are being disingenuous and bad faith.

#starwars and Lucasfilm has always tried to expand their stories and universe. George, Lucas did it with the Clone Wars TV show to expand the prequel era. Dave filoni did it with rebels and the original trilogy era. The fact that they are now expanding the sequel era is not some conspiracy...

This is incorrect. Luke's greatest feat in canon would be Similfuturus. Force projection across the galaxy is way more demanding. And no, Starkiller didn't bring down a Star Destroyer. In the TFU novel, he is directing its plunge. It's already falling.
