It’s not necessarily about higher education only. It’s about the quality of basic education. Investing in schools and teachers. Teaching kids critical thinking, empathy and good values. Stop banning books. Kick church out of the classroom.

What is not good for democracy is having double standards.As long as we normalize fascist, racist, misogynistic, corrupt and simply insane behavior from Republicans but expect storybook chivalry from Democrats, democracy has no chance.

Can we also have private healthcare on top of it? Yes. I’m fancy that way and pay myself top notch private healthcare where I can use services like CT scan and physiotherapy for free without waiting. It costs me 500$ per year.

It’s so weird to see some Americans nitpicking on European health systems. Folks, I go to doctor and pay nothing. I go to pharmacy and pay nothing. We have it since forever and nobody even thinks of dismantling it.

We have it in Croatia as well as Slovenia. In Croatia, prescribed meds are free. We do have right wing government in power in Croatia and nobody even thinks about taking free HC away. It’s considered unthinkable.

In that time, Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia and universal healthcare existed in some form since 1945. It also existed in Finland way before 1972. In Europe, it is considered basic human right.

I’m so happy to see that President Biden came to his senses and pardoned his son.
