New Insights Into Postnatal Depression and Breastfeeding
When oxytocin is inhaled via a nasal spray, it increases breast milk oxytocin levels, but it has less of an effect in new mothers who are experiencing depression

Studies show that when mums talk about their baby’s thoughts and feelings, it boosts the baby’s oxytocin levels. Mums with postnatal depression are less likely to do this, showing the importance of mental health support for mothers. Let’s nurture both mums and babies for brighter futures! 🌟

Language used by mothers affects oxytocin levels of infants
Infants whose mothers regularly use language to describe what their child is thinking or feeling, have higher levels of the hormone oxytocin, finds a new study.
