Ain't life grand? Saw an opening on LinkedIn on Tuesday, posted two days earlier. Interesting work, worthy cause, good skill fit, the right hours (part-time), remote, strong wage. Perfect for me! Finished the application Thursday with a killer cover letter. Hit 'Submit' and ... the job was gone.

I woke up this morning thinking the crown of creation is when Bill Anderson and Don Wayne wrote (and Lefty Frizzell sang) lyrics that rhymed ‘Saginaw Michigan’ with ‘You’re a wise, young ambitious man.’

And, come to think of it, Fairbanks (at least publicly) was as about as crusty and lifeless as Belichick is (at least in his dealings with the media as a coach).

Just sayin’. Belichick to N.C. rings a bell about my time covering Colorado back in the day when the CU shocked college football with a ballyhooed hire of a different aging Patriots coach. Chuck Fairbanks (who’d been successful in CFB earlier in his career, unlike Belichick) was 7-26 in Boulder.
