The Yes/No boxes started in 2019. In 2018 there was an opt-in box.

One thing I neglected to note: for the second straight year, we won't have any new additions to the All-Time Net Gained Vote Leaderboard. A couple candidates got close (Beltrán +38, Pettitte +36). I have a hunch we'll see some 2026 entries here.

Just added ballot #333 to the Tracker, which brings us to 84.5% of ballots known and a new record! (Previous best: 84.4% in 2020.)

There are only 62 fully private ballots (not published at BBWAA or shared with the Tracker anonymously). That is an all-time low. 🥳

We have 332 ballots listen in the Tracker after the BBWAA drop today. That's 84.3% ballots known, and that means we're one ballot short of breaking the all-time record for % of ballots known. I'm working on it.

The way we talk about it, 25 just happened, so he has 26 and 27 left. Both of those ballots are going to be relatively weak, especially 26. He has a 9% gap to bridge. Odds are in his favor I would think but his progress in the last few years is slower than you might hope if you're rooting for him.

Exciting that Sardell has some serious competition again. This'll be fun to watch next year.

The Star Player Being Kept Out of Cooperstown by a Trash Can Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner were voted into Cooperstown, while Carlos Beltrán fell short for the third consecutive year for his role in the 2017 Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal.

Carlos Beltrán is one of just five players with 400 homers and 300 steals. Statistically, he is undeniably deserving a spot in Cooperstown.

Yet for the third straight year, Beltrán was kept out — because of the sign-stealing scandal that won't go away.
