Been to see this beauty today at Seaton Delaval Hall. Seemed appropriate for the first day of lighter evenings.

Great to sit in on a teacher peer learning session as part of @northeastmuseums.bsky.social Cultural Match project, commissioned by North East Combined Authority. Giving #ECTs confidence to partner with artists and cultural orgs. Love that I still get to see these teachers grow in my new job!

Today, we’ve added two new approaches to our Early Years Evidence Store:

✍️Interactive writing, and,

🧼Self care.

In this blog, @juliangrenier.bsky.social, explores how educators can support the development of interactive writing in their setting.

Persistent challenges with recruitment to initial teacher training and teachers leaving the profession are leading to more unfilled vacancies and larger class sizes.

What schools need to get right on AI Finding the right balance between embracing AI but ensuring it does not dominate and rob young people of necessary knowledge is critical, argues David Monis-Weston

My first morning in my job (all of nearly 3 weeks ago now!) was spent in a regional meeting about how we can support more schools to work better with AI - this is an interesting read.

Surrey Square: The school that education policy forgot What can we learn from a school that provides a blueprint for many of Labour’s education reforms?

As governments have steered schools towards knowledge-rich curriculums and strict behaviour policies, Surrey Square Primary School has been quietly breaking the mould

What can we learn from a school already pioneering many of Labour's desired reforms?

A blue graphic which reads: "Between 2013 and 2020, 57% of 11-15 year olds in England only engaged with theatre and drama in school (not outside of school).

School provides a vital experience for all children to access and experience the arts.

For a high percentage of children, school is the only place where they'll engage with arts and creativity.

Arts provision in school is declining. This puts the entirety of arts access for many children at risk.
