When I finally got some employment I was a bus boy for a beach bar, which was seasonal, obviously. Then I worked delivering pizzas for about a year. While I didn’t sleep a lot during that time I listened to a ton of XRT. I knew the programming line up on the weekends…

Just finished The Uncool. Towards the end it gets tough. No spoilers. It was great glimpse into Cameron Crowes life. Almost Famous expanded but a whole lot more. Especially if you’re a music nerd. Well, being a nerd increases the experience.

Isn’t music weird. Sometimes a new album or song just click from the first note. Other times it builds or some outside force connects your emotions to that particular song. You can’t really explain it and don’t want to escape the feeling.

I only got to see The Allman Brothers once when I was in high school. They played the Meadows in Connecticut. They crushed it, there were bust outs, it rained, & mudslides. As I am writing that, I’m thinking “that’s an interesting memory”

#NowPlaying Time in on my on Side by Irma Thomas. Very cool soul version of a song that I only knew by the Rolling Stones. Pretty amazing.

That Wide Open last night was something else. The song itself is awesome, but the light show really captures the song.

Don’t forget to listen to Marquee Moon today. The whole album of course. Especially pay attention to Guiding Light and Venus De Milo. At the very least listen to the title track.

I just learned this year that the band American Football is considered emo. I’ve been listening to them for decades and may see them this summer.
