Part of a huge flock of 108 Ruff which turned up at Pulborough 29th April. Also 6 Wood Sandpiper & Greenshank mixed in.
Never seen a flock of Ruff quite like this in Britain before. Especially not on an inland site.

Great advice from RBBP and Ken Smith on looking for Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers. It's very easy to add breeding evidence and comments on your BirdTrack records. This really adds value to the record.

A collection of bee orchids I’ve encountered. Bee orchids mimic the look and smell of female insects to trick male insects into trying to mate with them: thrusting against the flowers, the male insects pick up and deliver pollen without reward (a process known as pseudocopulation).
