Oh, I haven’t been online much recently. I reckon the wire with the greater circumference might well be Viking and the finer wire Iron Age. I don’t know really but I do know that torcs were often made of many wire strands so I’ll be intrigued to know their age.

Old Fox was trying to persuade Wolf to come out of the wardrobe, where he'd been hiding since listening to the news early that morning.
I'm never coming out, shouted Wolf.
Old Fox sighed & sat down on the rug, wondering whether to make some tea. He really didn't blame Wolf, it was all so desperately worrying, more so than it had been for years.
For a grim, squalid tide of blood-soured ideology had seeped into the world, into bustling town and sleepy village and hamlet alike; a putrid, chlorotic groundwater which was rising unchecked and unmeasured, tainting all in its relentless path, claiming only the most vulnerable, only the weakest and the poorest for its wreck-wood and soil.
We must be brave, we must speak up and we must hold fast, said Old Fox to himself finally, we must hold fast. And he got up and went downstairs to make Wolf a sensible cup of cocoa and some brown buttered toast.

Old Fox climbed the familiar track winding through the gorse, Meadow Browns fluttering before him like sombre heralds, up to the top of Barrowdown. There in that light, that gold-milled early September light, he called for help, help from the tattery ghosts of thatch & field & acre.

Oh wow, now that’s interesting and something I haven’t contemplated doing - but I have been through a manhole/ drain cover/ other road ironwork phase in the past. Now I’m going to be looking at gate latches!

Oh, I am so pleased. It was a really good introduction to Sabrina and the Hafren and will be kept for reference.

I’m just rereading Molly and I’d forgotten what a good read it is! Amidst my runner bean and tomato glut, harvesting herbs for winter and sowing herbs and salads to grow in the greenhouse over winter…

Especially as she is intimately woven into the history of Wales and the Welsh Marches. So thank you.

Sabrina does not form part of my own personal practice, I live in Eryri which is far from the Severn or her tributaries; however, I felt it was important to read your book about this hugely important river and her deity, especially as her source lies in Pumlumon (continued 3/n)

And yet environmental issues are one of the biggest challenges we face today. Our spirituality needs to be practical (and pragmatic - we can’t always do as much as we’d like due to personal circumstances) and I like the way you highlight this. (Continued 2/n)

I very much enjoyed reading your book, a nice, concise and personal account of Sabrina, the Severn/Hafren and your devotion to her. I appreciate also your chapter regarding the ecological state of our rivers - so many esoteric authors still fail to mention environmental issues (continued 1/n)

I know, it really is, it’s exhausting. Some I do change very regularly but I tend to have 2fa anyway on anything important. I wish these things were safeguarded much more carefully, the onus is also on the tech companies to do so

Nice seaside outcrop of basaltic pillows, about 40 feet tall. Pillows are 1-4 m across. A big crack divides the outcrop in two, almost vertical in orientation.

Yes, the primroses particularly like the damp and semi shade. Now everything is surging and the primroses are taking a back seat in the wild area, as the common knapweed, angelica, silverweed etc starts romping away.

Only ten days to go until the end of darkness in the northern hemisphere 🌌

After that, there’s no actual night time until the very end of August as we remain in a perpetual twilight. Never fully dark, suspended in the suns reach for a good few months ✨
