β€œThe simple slap on the wrist of the Highway Traffic Act ticket and penalty is not even administered. How crushing is that to somebody who remains off work after being injured by someone?,” Shellnutt said at the news conference.

Tory noted in Oct2018 β€œthat the current city planner is someone who will not be interested in β€œthe acrimonious redbaiting and rehashing of issues” and rather will work with others to move the city forward.” πŸ˜‚

AskBradBradford WHY Tory weighed in on councillor race in 2018?
Tory typically shied away from endorsing candidates during election campaigns but he chose to offer his public support for BB in BEY race

This is the SMALL bike parking garage next to Utrecht Centraal Station. Free for 24 hours. With a bike repair shop, a few hundred OVfiets rental bikes, and a 24/7 secure, staffed parking lot for 4,200 bikes.

The new lot on the other side of the station holds 11,500 bikes.

Life In The Fast Lane: The Case For Keeping Speed Cameras The Ontario government is forcing municipalities to ditch speed enforcement cameras. People will die. But, hey, that's the cost of saving drivers the inconvenience of a speeding ticket.

David makes the point better than I.
"If some were indeed overzealous in their use of ASE cameras, as the Tories claim, treating them as a source of revenue more than a deterrent, then that’s an argument for changing camera placement, thresholds for issuing tickets, or even the rates for fines."

Statement: Removal of Speed Cameras Another Example of Reckless, Car-Centric Policies - Environmental Defence Statement from Tim Gray, Executive Director Toronto | Traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee, and

"Premier Ford claims municipalities should redesign streets to lower speeds naturally instead of relying on cameras. But the Ontario government’s own Bill 212 prohibits the most effective tools for doing that: lane reductions, physical barriers and other proven traffic-calming measures."

Yesterday afternoon, our family was biking down a road w/ sharrows w/ another family. Our kids (4 & 7) were on their own bikes & our friends were towing their preschooler in a trailer. The adults were biking closer to the middle of the road while the kids were on the inside, near the curb. #yycbike

The entire interaction is why I hate sharrows & find it tough to balance letting my 4 year old get stronger on her bike & gain independence while also keeping her safe. (As will come to NO surprise to anyone who knows the neighbourhood, this happened in Crescent Heights, by the High School).
