@ncgovernor.bsky.social has until this Fri, Oct 3 to veto HB 307. Dial (919) 814-2000, then press #5 to ask him to veto this bill, which would increase the likelihood of executing innocent people, worsen racial disparities, criminalize mental illness, & ultimately fail to protect public safety.

I'm so tired of hearing people talk about who will get the "blame" for a shutdown, as if this were some kind of pissing game. This is not a game. This is about staying alive. We ALL lose if we don't have access to affordable healthcare. We ALL lose if we have a gov shutdown.

We don't want a shutdown. We also don't want to lose healthcare funding. Yesterday I emailed my US Rep & 2 US Senators to tell them this. Today I called them. They need to work together to create a bipartisan funding bill that will keep the govt running & provide healthcare $.

I found a couple of the monarch larvae in the Pink Muhly grass this morning. I reckon it's about time for them to form chrysalises...I'll be keeping my eyes open!
