Should this be what we value? I don't think so. They are going after individuals who are valued members of their communities. Why?

We need to place ownership for what's going on where it belongs. And we need to go out and win more seats. We can do it.
Our service members are not political props. They signed up to defend the country πΊπΈ, its people, and our constitution. They are not partisan, they are all of us and the should not be used for partisan purposes.
11.06.2025 18:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The administration's ongoing comment that no one has died because of the USAID cuts is just wrong. Good for @npr.org for trying to looking into it. A harrowing, but important listen.

Want to know what habeas corpus is? Here's a great description.
I also have an issue with a head of DHS who doesn't know what it means. Those enforcing our immigration laws need to be know and follow our laws. Period.
I couldn't agree more. With this point and the points in this article. Support indep. media.
"The danger of making corporate media the Democratsβ message distribution system is that they arenβt on the Democratsβ side. Corporate media exists to serve its shareholders, its bottom line, and" itself.
The Constitution is clear, Freedom of the Press is the law of the U.S. This means that media companies cannot be targeted for publishing articles that any administration disagrees with, just because they disagree with them. @thebulwark.com @willsommer.bsky.social

Refugee status is an internationally recognized status. The US may call someone a refugee but that doesn't make them a refugee. A refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. None apply here. www.cnn.com/2025/05/12/p...
12.05.2025 22:23 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The revocation of TPS status for Afghans is outrageous. It's not safe for people to return, particularly women and girls. Many others helped the Americans while we were there and are in danger if they return.

An excellent read and points yet again to people who proclaim their christianity yet purposefully harm the poor and displaced. I'm thrilled that the Catholic church will continue to be a voice for the poor and displaced who don't have a voice.

Itβs just heartbreaking to watch this. The US used to be the first to help. And it made a difference. Now weβre totally absent. My heart is breaking.
Trumpβs USAID cuts cripple American response to Myanmar earthquake
100% agree with @jenrubin.bsky.social that the administration is losing in court, so it's important that companies, organizations, and others continue to battle these illegal executive orders and actions in the courts. Obeying in advance is the worst thing to do.
31.03.2025 15:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I didn't think we could pay for people's votes? What!!!
27.03.2025 15:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0While this wouldn't remove big money from our elections (which we desperately need to do), reducing coordination with campaigns would be helpful.
27.03.2025 14:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've always been proud to be an American because I live in a country that protects each person's freedom to speak out about what they care about. We've always extended that right to everyone who is here. All of our freedoms are threatened when someone is punished for speaking out.
27.03.2025 14:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Listening to the WH press briefing today, I'm struck by their ongoing messaging attacking the previous administration. While they can certainly point out differences between this administration and the previous one, it's so partisan to keep blaming the prior administration. Why not be FOR things?
26.03.2025 17:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What is happening to Social Security is terrifying. Americans pay into this system throughout their careers so it can be there for them when they can no longer work. My elderly parent is now becoming afraid of losing part of her income. She is 96. Why are we doing this to the elderly?
26.03.2025 15:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Late yesterday, the president signed an executive order imposing mandates on federal elections. This EO isn't getting enough attention. It will make it much harder for many Americans to vote. We need more Americans to speak out against this EO to protect the rights of all Americans to vote.

26.03.2025 14:45 β π 38 π 10 π¬ 2 π 2There are so many reasons why todayβs Executive Order on voting is a problem. @itsapurdy.bsky.social outlines many of them. Our democracy works best when everyone participates in it. Voting is a key way we participate. We must protect our right to vote.

18.03.2025 15:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This administration's activities this weekend and today -- invoking the Alien Enemies Act, sending Venezuelan citizens to be incarcerated in El Salvador against a judge's order, saying Biden's pardons aren't valid, to name some -- show their total disrespect for the rule of law. We need to push back
17.03.2025 17:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We knew this was true but to see it laid out like this is really dramatic. One of the things we really need to do is figure out how to navigate the current media ecosystem. I see a lot of people saying we need a new Joe Rogan on the left. I don't think that's it. How can we engage with what's there?
