Over the last year we have found ways to remember the events around the US bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, through our translated protocols, in conversation with intergenerational Hibakusa, a workshop with journalists on our protocols and our protocols in the community

Trump moves nuclear submarines after ex-Russian president's comments US President Donald Trump says two nuclear submarines are being deployed in the "appropriate regions".

Spotify used to seem like a necessary evil for musicians. Now it just seems evil | David Bridie I am removing my music from Spotify because I don’t want my songs – some written with survivors of conflict – to enrich people who fund weapons

David Bridie says "We can’t keep handing our creativity, our loyalty and our cash to amoral tech giants who see music as content and war as business. I’d rather earn nothing than profit from destruction."

US nuclear bombs have arrived in Britain. The UK government is ramping up military spending and preparing for war. We’re telling Keir Starmer - don’t build bombs, build a better future.

The story behind the photograph of a starving Gaza baby Photographer Ahmed al-Arini told BBC Newshour he had to catch his breath between each photograph.

If you haven't seen this photograph or have turned away from it, look again now. Listen to the photographer's story and his plea.

Then let all those feelings turn you not away, but to action.

We can not leave these children in Gaza/anywhere to die due to our inaction.

Smoking ceremony may signal new action on Indigenous affairs During this term of parliament, the prime minister must show bravery and deliver meaningful change in Indigenous affairs, not culture war flashpoints.

Beautifully written article by Indigenous affairs reporter Dana Morse detailing the welcome to Country ceremony that opened Australian parliament this week - and a gentle reminder of the fork in the road moment we just passed in the last election www.abc.net.au/news/2025-07...

Those who have experienced nuclear violence - from the deserts of New Mexico to Hiroshima and Nagasaki and beyond - can tell us that the harm goes on. In contamination of bodies and environment, in our minds and politic

Today there are over 12,400 nuclear weapons.

SIPRI & FAS warn a dangerous new nuclear arms race is energing. Arms control regimes are severely weakened. Nearly all of the nine nuclear-armed states are continuing intensive nuclear modernization, upgrading existing weapons, adding new versions.

My stepfather was a teen when nuclear bombs first dropped. He would recall people celebrating initially - it had been a long and brutal war...on the back of another war a gen before. They were told this stopped the war...but they soon learned it was the start of a different war, one affecting us all

All my people who knew that day, or knew the days to come in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, have now passed. I begged them to them tell me what they felt and thought when they first learned of nuclear weapons..
