Yesterday’s terrorist attack was abhorrent. But when Starmer calls for a period of mourning can he also recognise and acknowledge the simultaneous mourning of the death of over 60,000 Palestinians and the destruction of their land? Deaths and destruction that he and his government are complicit in.

When Starmer came to power he faced 2 tasks: the governance of business and the business of governance.
He's failed on the 1st, because the levers are weak, the problems immediate and solutions long term.
He's failed on the 2nd because he doesn't seem interested, just tinkering at the edges.

Unfortunately facts don't matter while the visibility of the boats plays to emotions.
That's why they keep pumping out the pictures.
