Absolute epic moment this weekend in terms of #genealogy and #familyhistory. Not only do I find that Gareth Southgate is the current owner of a distant Uncle's home but my Nan's 1st cousin, 1x removed may have photo's of her Dad & praying she has them for her Mum 🤞

Working on my first ever #loomknitting project. A figure of 8 stitch blanket that I hope to put together in 2 panels as this is the only loom I seem comfortable with. Will it work? I don't know, am I having fun learning to knit this way? Oh yeah! 😉

I finally got the #Embroidery finished and then stitched it around the card ready to frame tomorrow only to find I've put the card the wrong way round 🤣 First ever embroidery design

Round 2, took the clock out as it was too fiddly and added the date July 2nd 1981 in its place and changed the fonts in the Crests. Luckily fits the new #embroidery frame fully this time 😉

That's true. For 12 years I thought his name was George William Burton. It was only the recent free FMP weekend that showed I was wrong. Looking for his daughter's 1921 census stated Father Deceased. Turns out he was born Button, lived as a Burton and died as Button again

Making it more awkward to determine who the father is on these baptism records now. Harriet Button is named in an article but there was also another woman named Ann Sutton mentioned. No Criminal Records exist for either women

Very interested in this area of York at the moment. I have the baptism records of a few Button Ancestors in this area as well as news articles. Is it true this area was known for women of ill-repute shall we say?

More or less have, still debating if the reason for the name change is an axe to grind against the surname or if he is the son of a Button after all

And the next 2 as Niece but when I've tried searching for Emily on the GRO with mother's maiden name nothing comes up. I've found John's death in 1901. Same address, Apoplexy

Guess John & Emma both moved to Salford together as evidenced by both of their marriages. I'm now wondering if he is only the father of Emma and so legally took her or he abandoned them all as Catherine wasn't his legal wife until 1894
