I know that the Acolyte has been over for a while now but I still don’t understand the vitriol against it (I mean I know a lot of it was racism. I know) but like. The writing really was not as bad as people claimed it was and it didn’t deserve to be canceled. 🤷🏻‍♀️

All my granny squares so far from the first half of the year. I had to put them on the guest bed since it’s the biggest surface area we have in the house! (Note: I forgot to make a square for one book I read, which will end up going in between the very last two in the bottom right corner. #crochet

I enjoyed it! It has an interesting exploration of technology vs nature that I really appreciated. I think I’ll have to read more of Okorafor’s work.

That’s lovely! My own grandmother tried to teach me to knit when I was a kid and it never stuck. I taught myself to crochet a couple years ago and it’s been a really nice thing for the two of us to talk about :)

Yes! It started as a way to keep myself accountable and actually finish books. I’m keeping a log of all the books I complete in 2025 and will turn them into a blanket at the end of the year! :)
