I flew to Craiova last year for the Shakespeare Festival. I worked out it would take days to get there by train. It was during term time & I could not take days to get there & back. For me the critical thing is that I tried hard, learnt about the night jets, and then gave up & flew.

Despite all the wisdom of the Man in Seat 61 the only way I could work out to get by train to Vigo (from Santander ferry) was via Madrid .... The last ferry to Vigo went 40years ago.
