Though not so well known as their famous "giant" cousins, animal experts say they’re really rarer. The animals have rich red fur, with stripped red and white faces and black feet. Noel Rosefelt of Avalon, Calif., representing a California zoo, bought them for $210 each. On the trip to America, they will be fed bamboo shoots, milk powder, condensed milk and bread. Experts describe them as extremely stupid but easily domesticated.

Today in Old Newspapers, an article from 1955 that has all of five paragraphs and uses one of them to call red pandas idiots for some reason.
