Mishmash of theology, video games, books, TTRPGs, and yelling into the void. Wrote a book called Jericho (https://shorturl.at/DiCa8) if you like gritty, dystopian thrillers in this gritty, dystopian time. Yes, the cat did bite that ornament.

Trump’s new tariffs don’t make economic sense — and that’s the point. These tariffs are designed to cause widespread pain so that Trump can use the power of relief as a form of extortion: indivisible.org/tariffs

Stop the SAVE Act The SAVE Act would keep millions of people from being able to vote – and would shut countless eligible voters out of our democracy. Urge Congress to vote no now.

The SAVE Act would prevent millions of eligible voters from participating in our democracy, like married women, naturalized citizens, trans people, and people with low incomes.

Tell Congress: Vote NO on this bill and protect our right to vote.

don’t be discouraged yet. the movement is just getting started and will take time to cleave off other segments of the population that are typically apolitical or been written by previous groups. they want us to feel powerless, but resistance doesn’t just start. it grows over time.

Advice from a former congressional staffer.
Call BOTH offices every day. Don't write. A thread FOR THOSE OF YOU LOOKING TO TURN YOUR ANGER INTO ACTION, here's some advice from a high-level staffer for a Senator. Re-posting from a friend of mine:
There are two things that we should be doing all the time right now, and they're by far the most important things.
You should NOT be bothering with online petitions or emailing. 1/11

1) The best thing you can do to be heard and get your congressperson to pay attention is to have face-to-face time - if they have town halls, go to them. Go to their local offices. If you're in DC, try to find a way to go to an event of theirs. Go to the "mobile offices" that their staff hold periodically (all these times are on each congressperson's website). When you go, ask questions. A lot of them. Push for answers. The louder and more vocal and present you can be at those the better. 2/11

2) But those in-person events don't happen every day. So, the absolute most important thing that people should be doing every day is calling.
YOU SHOULD MAKE 6 CALLS A DAY:
2 each (DC office & your local office) to your 2
Senators & your 1 Representative.
The staffer was very clear that any sort of online contact gets ignored & letters get thrown in the trash (unless you have a particularly strong emotional story - but even then it's not worth the time it took you to craft that letter). 3/11 g

Calls are what all the congresspeople pay attention to. Every single day, the Senior Staff and the Senator get a report of the 3 most-called-about topics for that day at each of their offices (in DC and local offices), and exactly how many people said what about each of those topics. 4/11

They're also sorted by zip code and area code.
She said that Republican callers generally outnumber Democrat callers 4-1, and when it's a particular issue that single-issue-voters pay attention to (like gun control, or planned parenthood funding, etc...), it's often closer to 11-1, and that's recently pushed Republican congressmen on the fence to vote with the Republicans. In the last 8 years, Republicans have called, and Democrats haven't. 5/11 l

It is very easy to call your representatives’ offices. They have to log your calls and the call numbers are meaningful. You don’t even have to try to convince anyone; just call and tell them your concerns. They are there to represent you. Let them know what that means. www.usa.gov/elected-offi...

It is not too late to act on climate change because climate change is not pass/fail. Every faction of a degree matters and is worth fighting for.

That's not propaganda or wishful thinking. It's evidence-based. Suggesting otherwise is as unscientific as climate denial, and just as damaging.

alright you wanna know how to support trans people?

hire them. It's REALLY hard already for visibly trans people to get jobs, even before this shit.

Support places that have trans people working front of house, and make sure owners know that's part of why you're there.

The Budde sermon, and Trump's reaction to it, distills nearly everything I've written about for the past decade. MAGA believes they define the only true version of Christianity in America. A Christianity that sees Trump as white Christian America's savior, and all other Christianities as dead.
