Nobody is disagreeing that the endgame is UHC.

Yes, making necessary and life-saving prescription drugs affordable rather than maximizing profit IS a step towards universal healthcare.

Any step that changes the conversation from “healthcare is for profit” to “make sure everyone can afford necessary medication” is a step in that direction.
